Pain Relief

Our philosophy: We are very unique in that we help clients with areas of pain or discomfort without putting them in yet more pain. One of the reasons for this is over the last 4 years, I have heard from way too many clients that they received a deep tissue massage only to have a therapist hurt them by using way too much pressure.   With those particular clients, they ended up either avoiding getting deep tissue or they avoided getting massage as a whole.  I find both of those scenarious quite disturbing.

The other reason I have chosen to only use certain techniques is because I personally get a ton of massages (at least once per week) and I get a LOT of deep tissue work done so I have experienced a lot and I have come to realize that there are levels of deep tissue massage. I do not believe that you have to use excessive pressure in order to get a client out of pain. I also know that clients who have never had deep tissue bodywork before should not have really deep work done the very first time because deep tissue is something that you must become accustomed to over time. And, lastly, in working on literally hundreds of clients, I have come to realize that I get better results when I skillfully combine deep tissue with relaxation massage and hot stone therapy which is not only more effective but tends to feel soothing to our clients.

Back, Neck, and Shoulder Pain – We specialize in treating the neck/shoulders, and back. About 70% of our clients come in experiencing pain or discomfort in one of these areas. The areas where we get the most complaints are the neck and lower back. We use a combination of deep tissue techniques including acupressure, hot stone deep tissue, compression, stretching, and relaxation massage in order to bring clients relief.

Back Pain – Back pain causes more workers to call off work than any other ailment or sickness. To get relief, people usually resort to seeing a doctor or chiropractor, physical therapy, taking medications or muscle relaxants, getting surgery or simply living with it. Of all of the options available, massage therapy has been proven to be the most effective for a high percentage of clients. In the various studies done, those patients who decided to seek out regular massage had their symptoms become much less or sometimes completely disappear. Not only did pain improve but their overall function also improved, they had less time off from work or school, and they used much less pain medication.

Repetitive Stress Injuries (RSI) –

Chronic Pain – For clients who experience regular, ongoing pain, massage therapy is one of the top options for managing that pain. Depending on what you have going on, skillful massage can sometimes totally alleviate the source of pain, or at the very least keep it under control so you can enjoy your life. If you are dealing with chronic pain you will want to start off getting worked on twice per month and adjust it up or down depending on how you feel and how long you are symptom-free.

“Ok Donna I am taking the time to write this review. The wife and I were of course blown away by the stones and the wonderful massage session but I was most impressed by the customer service. Being able to reach a live person on a Sunday morning and you responding via text right away floored me. Most places you hear back from in a couple of days if you call on the weekend. And then you worked it out for us to get in on the same day! Wow! Other places should really rethink using old-fashion land lines for their business. Thanks again. We will DEFINITELY be back soon!” Roger W.; February 2015.
